Marketing organizations may use applications and programming languages for market analysis that are not implemented during training programs and even discouraged by graduate training progams. This survey seeks to assess industry specific needs for application and programmiing skills AND critical thinking skills.
The contribution point of this survey is a brief consolidation of recent articles listed below and recent conversations with marketing and higher education businesses. Recent postings for data analyst/manager suggest hiring managers are serving reduced budgets or may not realize that programmers, analysts and developers require hours of uninterrupted time while managers require changing focus every few minutes (ref. Steve McConnell, '97). Findings from SAS and EPIC show increased productivity, return on investment and sustainable production by implementing focused workflows and environments.
